Ongoing Projects

The Lasting Change Study

We have recently obtained a one-of-a-kind opportunity to assess the long-term effects of Tony Robbins’ “Date With Destiny” (DWD), one of the largest virtual immersive psychosocial interventions worldwide, on stress and resilience over the course of one year and to develop predictive models of participants’ stress and resilience. Using a precision-health approach with known biomarkers (biological, psychosocial, and physiological), will enhance our understanding of the interplay between molecular and physiological factors in stress and resilience. Additionally, the virtual nature of the intervention increases its accessibility and scalability for public use, underscoring the need to assess its impact with scientifically valid tools. The development of molecular and digital biomarkers from this study will advance the methodology for assessment and personalization of psychosocial interventions. By exploring the molecular pathways involved in stress and resilience in detail, this research could identify new non-pharmacological therapeutic approaches, addressing the worldwide chronic stress crisis and potentially advancing mental health care.  This project is done in collaboration with Prof Michael Snyder (Multiple PI), Head of the Department of Genetics, Stanford University. I have been collaborating with Prof. Snyder and his team on precision mental health promotion since 2019.

Recent Publications

Using Ecological Momentary Assessments to Study How Daily Fluctuations in Psychological States Impact Stress, Well-Being, and Health

Examples of ecological momentary assessments (EMAs) conducted using mobile devices. Collecting data with multiple quick response types (i.e., multiple input, yes/no, and slider scales) reduces participant burden and allows for the cross-checking of data validity. Additional options, like audio responses and selecting pictures/emoticons as responses, can increase the accessibility of EMA surveys.
